# Moon scanned-rock adoption

Orchestrator: new round. Main ([revision removed]) now has (a) the shared scanned-rock library (RockLibrary: CC0 Poly Haven scans incl. moon_rock_01..07 and boulders, three LODs; read [path removed] and terrain-textures.md; Tycho's MoonRockField and Gale are the worked examples) and (b) a new detail-texture layer DirtyIce (index 12) from the owner's dirty-ice texture. Steps: with labs stopped, git merge main once, run bash [path removed] import, rebuild. Then adopt the scanned rocks for your large and medium rocks (keep procedural chips/gravel only where cheaper), place rock clusters around the view focus rather than the camera eye where your rock field allows it, keep honest separate terrain and rock triangle accounting with about 500k per view total, and compare before/after at close, gameplay and far against your references. Note: terrain-cache-checks fails until the baked geometry is regenerated (deleted on purpose; re-bake happens after the families settle), so skip it. Same validation (region suite, your terrain checks, art-lab checks, production budget), lean evidence, merge main only once. Commit, report, stop.

Family notes: extend the Tycho rock setup to Aristarchus, Marius and Cabeus; fix the gravel reading as fine grain at gameplay distance by letting small scanned stones carry it near the camera.
